Camborne Music Festival - Privacy Notice


The Camborne Music Festival is an organisation run entirely by volunteers and registered with the Charity Commission (No. 1043128). It is a member of the British and International Federation of Festivals.

This privacy policy notice explains how we use any personal information that we collect about you.

What information do we collect about you?
We collect information about you when you, or the person responsible for you, or your teacher, makes a request for you to take part in the Festival. We will only ask for the information that is needed to process that entry and allow you to take part/ We do not collect any other information about you, unless we are told that you may need extra help to take part in the Festival, or if the law says that it is needed.

How will we use the information about you?

The information that we collect will be used to sort out your entry to classes in the Festival and to ensure that the Festival runs smoothly.
Only people who help to run the Festival will be allowed to use your details.

Information about you will not be used unless we have a good reason to do so.

Access to your data and correction

You can ask for a copy of the information that we hold about you. You can get this information by contacting the General Secretary (email  wendy.curnow@virgin.net)
We want to make sure that your personal information is correct and up to date and we will do our best to make sure that this is so. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is incorrect.

Keeping Information

 The Festival has a Data Protection Policy which can be obtained by contacting the General Secretary (as above). This will tell you how long we may keep information and how we dispose of it.

Do we share this information with anyone else?
The information you have given us will not be disclosed to anyone outside the Festival unless required to do so by law, but names of people taking part in the Festival will appear in the Festival programme, and the names of the class winners will be posted to the Results pages of the Festival website. Results may also be posted in the local press with photographs of class winners taken by the festival`s official photographer. If you do not want your name or photograph to appear in any of these places please make this clear when you are entered into the Festival.

Transfer of data
The Festival will ensure that any technology company it uses must adhere to a code of conduct and security that complies with the requirements of the European Economic Area in order to make sure that your personal information is looked after properly.

Website and On-Line entries
When you use our secure on-line entry system you will be directed to a specialist supplier company, who will receive your credit card number and contact information to process the payment. We, as a Festival, do not retain your credit or debit card details.

Our website provides links to other websites. This privacy notice only applies to the Festival website, so when you link to other websites you should read their own privacy notices.
